Minutes of Organizational meeting Wednesday, May 24, 2023, 6 pm at The Occasion Event Venue at Dandridge

Election of officers

All officers were elected by affirmation.

President: Kristin Depew

Vice President: Janice Carey

Secretary for May 24, 2023 Meeting: Susan Greene

Treasurer: Lavigne Kirkpatrick

Assistant Treasurer: Michelle Light

Motion brought by Cheryl Scarbrough, Second offered by Lisa Jansson to adopt GOP Women of Jefferson County as group name and to use said name on bank accounts to be opened at CNB Bank. Passed Unanamously

By consent Lavigne Kirkpatrick, Treasurer will establish non-profit (Political) designation, open bank account at CNB Bank, and deposit check from pre-existing account that was closed.

During open discussion it was determined by consent that the GOP Women of Jefferson County will meet once per month on the third Tuesday evening of the month at 6 pm. Due to conflicts the June meeting will be on June 20, 2023 at 6 pm at The Occasion Event Venue at Dandridge. The July meeting will be on July 17, 2023 at 6 pm at a location to be determined.

Group members signed in on an email list. A website and facebook page will be created for the group. The June 20th meeting will not have a guest speaker. An event committee will be established at that meeting. Existing members are encouraged to bring potential new members.

By consent, dues were established at $20 annually to begin June 20, 2023.

Consideration will be given to sponsoring a Young Republicans Club at JCHS in the Fall.

Keynote speaker for the evening was Jefferson County Republican Chairman, David Seal who gave updates on issues of concern to the local Republican Party.

The meeting was adjorned at 7:45 pm.
